Painted vases can really light up a house and if they are accompanied by beautiful flowers then the design is a killer. Unfortunately, vases with beautiful designs can be pretty expensive so it’s better to go for a “do-it-yourself” project where you can use your imagination and come up with pretty designs without spending a fortune on buying a new vase. You can go to the Dollar Store and buy as many vases as you like-buy plain transparent vases; that should do the trick. You will need a dishwasher safe PermEnamel paint and make sure to choose the colors that you like (you can either paint the entire vase using one color or you can use beautiful patterns; it’s up to you). You will also need a PermEnamel Surface Conditioner, some paper towels, a mixing bowl and a paint brush. When you start work, you have to clean the vases with hot water and soap. You have to dry them and then you need to pour some surface conditioner and cover the vase. Let it dry again. Mix your paints in the mixing bowl till you get the color that you really want. Pour the new paint inside the vase. Use the paint brush to cover all surfaces with paint. When you finish painting all the vases put them on a paper towel to let some of the excessive paint drip off. The longer you keep the vases upside down; the paint will become thinner and thinner. If you like the way the vases look with thick coats of paint on them, leave them upside down for just a few minutes. You can even the paint after you let a few minutes pass. Then you can let the vases dry for a day and you can start filling them with flowers in the morning.
